On the Sixteenth we woke up to the sweet smell of pimento distilling, we have been doing a lot of pimento lately, which is wonderful because it is such a high yield. Throughout this day we swam a lot, and did some hive scans for a neighbor who is out of town. In the evening Kyra, Miles, Danny and I did a two-mile walk to a party place down the road to watch the moon, and it was wonderful.

On the Seventeenth I woke up to find that the moon was in Taurus- my astrology sign, so feelings of comfort and sensuality were defiantly in the atmosphere. I woke up to watch the sunrise at the beach- a quote I know says “there is a sunrise and a sunset to everyday, you can choose to be there, to put yourself in the face of beauty.” So, I put myself in the face of beauty. My goal is to do that more often. After the sunrise, we went into the bees in the bush to do a bunch of hive scans and transfers. I think I sweat a little less every time, but I never sweat short of a liter. Once we got back I couldn’t fight the need to take a nap on the hammock: you have to have at least an hour of hammock time everyday. After lunch, we did another pimento distillation, and while that was working, we all went to go pick marigold flowers to distill- it was long and tedious but we had great views while doing it. That evening I practiced yoga under the stars and drank pepper elder tea to ease me to sleep.

After a restful night , I awoke early on the Eighteenth to hear rain down pouring. We were supposed to wake up for the bees, but there was no way that was going to happen, so I made use of the morning and practiced yoga, and went for a swim instead. We had a slow breakfast after everyone else woke up, then I took a nap. After the nap, the interns all went snorkeling to try and find the shipwreck at the coral reef, we couldn’t find it but we enjoyed swimming around, and pool-vaulting off the cliffs with bamboo. After another nap, we built top bar hives, and then we went up to the bees to do what we had planned for the morning. We lit a huge fire at the end to get rid of all the grass we had dug up which was exciting and powerful. After dinner Agape made us mixed drinks for the boys’ last night, we cherished and appreciated them and shared our last moments watching the stars over the ocean. I will miss those boys and, and I wish them a safe journey from here on out. I appreciate all they taught me about life and myself.

The Nineteenth was filled with different energy, female energy that is J. Even though there are seven boys here, women always can seep their energy into everyone and everything is a beautiful, tender way. I spent the whole morning with pimento- picking the berries, stripping the leafs, and chopping the leafs for distillation. I needed a break so the boys took Kyra, the new guests and I to the sea cave were we got tossed around by the giant waves. The rest of the evening was spent distilling pimento and getting to know the new guests from Italy. I am really cherishing every moment I have here, while keeping in mind that 12 days can be 12 years if I want it to, because time is not linear.Until next time
